Giulia is a student enrolled in the final year of the Bachelor’s degree program in Economics and Business Management (with a focus on Administration and Control) at the University of Brescia. She chose to carry out her internship at Eurosilos Sirp to earn the required training credits for her degree.
At the end of her experience, we had a conversation together to gather her immediate impressions of the months she spent with us at the company.
Why choose Eurosilos Sirp
«I chose Eurosilos Sirp» she tells us, «because in the area where I live, it is a well-known company. In fact, several people I know work here. Talking to them, I got various useful information, so I sent my request for a training internship here»
Tasks in line with the university course
The internship lasted about three months during which Giulia was assigned a supervisor who supervised her in carrying out various tasks in the accounting and administrative area.
«The activities carried out by Giulia were diverse, » explains Sonia, the company tutor who Eurosilos assigned to the intern. «We always tried to assign her tasks consistent with her university course and her educational background. And this choice paid off because Giulia demonstrated her ability to apply the skills acquired through her studies to the work context » concludes Sonia, providing some examples of the tasks performed (monthly reports on company purchases, invoice filing, accounting control of the fixed asset register, etc.).
«I had to face situations where I was put to the test in a completely new way compared to what I experienced during my years of study. The working world has very different, much faster rhythms, and above all, I understood how the success of my work and the timely completion of my tasks affect the work outcome of other colleagues»
Giulia has learned many things during her months in the company, but as she emphasizes, « what I take home as truly formative experience is the daily life within an office, breathing the atmosphere and rhythms that develop in a work group among colleagues of different ages and with different tasks and responsibilities».
Giulia has worked closely with colleagues from the commercial, marketing, and accounting departments. She also carried out some activities in close contact with Dayana Telefri, CEO of Eurosilos Sirp.
Dayana Telefri
«As an entrepreneur, I find that corporate internships before obtaining a degree are a very important experience for young people, a great opportunity that universities and companies together can offer to help them focus on future goals and talents»
Future projects and dreams
«I only have a couple of exams left to complete my bachelor’s degree, which I am starting to prepare for and hope to be able to discuss at the beginning of next year» Giulia concludes. She has already mentioned that she will write a thesis on women in the workforce and will have the opportunity to mention her experience at Eurosilos.
